Today the absolutely best thing happened. My friend, who was in a coma for almost 11 months, woke up. I was in the middle of my exam when I got the voice mail “Tamara, come to the hospital, it’s really important.” My mother was talking really weird so my first thought was the worst happened, but on the contrary - today is the best day of my life. I ran to the hospital and there she was, waiting for me. Wide awake. She started to react to her new medication and she simply woke up! I didn’t know it would happen so fast. I still can’t believe it. :) Here’s a story I’d like to share. A few months ago I was reading her paper towns and on the part when Ben pees in a bottle she was kind of smiling. After that, reading paper towns became our thing, it was really nice to see her ‘react’ somehow. I read it probably 15-20 times and never got tired of it. The first thing she said to me today was “could you read me paper towns one last time please?” and that’s when I knew that all of this time she could hear me. I’m still half sobbing but I’m so happy words can’t explain. John is my favorite author since I can remember, but today he became even more dear to my heart. This book has a whole new meaning for me now. Thank you John!!! :)

This needs to be spread around so john green sees this.

spiritualinspiration:

We all face situations in life that feel out of control. During times like these, it’s easy to get discouraged and allow fear to creep in; but instead, why don’t you focus on the fact that God is holding you in the palm of His hand! There is nothing too difficult for Him; nothing’s impossible; nothing is beyond His ability. When God holds you in His hand, you are safe; you are cared for. In His hand, there is victory. In His hand, there is strength. In His hand, there is provision. In His hand is everything you need.

No matter what you may be going through today, you can trust that God is for you. Instead of getting down and depressed over your circumstances, look up and get a vision of God turning that situation around. Let faith arise in your heart and focus on His favor, promotion and blessing. As you keep your heart and mind focused on Him and choose to obey His Word, you’ll see those supernatural breaks that will launch you further ahead than you ever thought possible because He holds you with His victorious right hand!

spiritualinspiration:

“…those who hope in me will not be disappointed.” (Isaiah 49:23, NIV)

What a powerful promise we have from Almighty God! When we put our hope in Him, we will never be disappointed. Of course, that doesn’t mean that things will always go our way. There may be temporary disappointments, but we will never be permanently disappointed. Somewhere down the road, God will cause it to all work out for our good. With God on your side, you will always end in victory!

Are you carrying frustration, worry or aggravation about something? That’s usually a clear sign that your hope is in the wrong place. If you hope in circumstances, it will deplete you of joy and peace. But when you turn those circumstances over to God, when you refuse to worry, when you refuse to allow the temporary things of this world to dictate your happiness, that’s when God can do a work in your life. When you trust in Him, He will make your crooked places straight; He will cause you to mount up with wings like the eagle.

Today, choose to put your hope in the Father; you won’t be disappointed. Trust Him because He is faithful. Find rest for your soul in knowing that He is good, and He has good things in store for your future!

dearepiphany:

Winter is coming

dearjeeling:

This was once the most common representation of female bodies. The rolls of fat and pudgy bellies existed along with thick thighs and broad hips. Some of those bodies were slim, some were chubby, some were fat, but they weren’t stretched out and smoothed out in Photoshop. They acted like bodies do, they looked real and believable. We lost that somewhere along the way, when people in the fashion business started wiping out any inconvenient fold, making us think they don’t exist and to have them is a blasphemy. Maybe it’s about time we remember they are perfectly normal and everyone has them, sometimes or all the time, no matter skinny or fat.

“I’m just going to come out and say it: People don’t go to hell because they are gay. Ever. Never in a million years will God send someone to hell for being gay. People go to hell because they want to be the gods of their own lives. People go to hell because they want to be kings. They want to determine what is right and wrong.

The truth is we are all going to limp across the finish line to some degree. Of course there is victory in Jesus and of course are we more than conquerors through Christ as the apostle Paul says; but even Paul had a thorn in the flesh. Most of us have a spiritual Achilles’ heel. We all will have spiritual bruises, cuts, and sores. Some will limp across the finish line still fighting their addiction to porn. Some will limp across the finish line with their addiction to food. And some will limp across the finish line with their attraction to the same sex.

The issue isn’t whether someone is good or bad, but whether he is repentant or unrepentant. Who is God of her life? Who’s in control? What or who are they pursuing? Are they looking to him or trusting in self? Because I trust that if Jesus’ grace has radically collided with a heart, I believe that person will begin to align themselves with Jesus’ image, looking more like him everyday.”
